Water can be purified using evaporation and condensing of water in a vacuum if two different fluid temperatures are provided. The process is demonstrated to work but needs a cost-effective cold-water source.
The advantage to this method is the lack of heat energy required when compared with MSF and the lack of RO membranes when compared with reverse osmosis.
